The Aplastic Anemia and Myelodysplasia Association of Canada (AAMAC) is hosting advocacy workshops in Calgary and Edmonton this June 2014. The sessions, entitled “Putting Words into Action,” will aim to help individuals learn how to become advocates.
The workshops are being held in conjunction with local multiple myeloma support groups and will be led by academic, advocate and researcher Kathy Kovacs-Burns. The agenda for the informational session and workshop includes an introduction to what advocacy is, and steps to developing a comprehensive plan.
All patients, families, and interested health care professionals are welcome. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided.
To register, please complete a registration form (PDF, Word). Forms should be emailed to Cindy at the national AAMAC office. Alternatively, call toll-free 1-888-840-0039 to register. There is no cost to register, however, you must register no later than one week before the event to attend.
Feel free to download the poster for your own information, and to forward to others who may be interested.
